Greylag geese at the Kaltbrunner Riet (St. Gallen, Switzerland)

In spring and autumn the Kaltbrunner Riet is a hive of activity. On their long journeys between north and south, migratory birds like to use the wetland as a stopover. The rich supply of food – as well as the resting places on open water and in the marsh meadows – is particularly attractive to waders and waterfowl.
